Central High School Secures a Free Healthy Vending Machine
An InstaHealthy vending machine will be installed at Omaha public school district, Central High School. The healthy vending machine features healthier snack and nutritious drink options. With over thousands of healthy options to choose from, InstaHealthy will be working with the school’s administration to build a catered custom menu that also complies with the USDA “Smart Snacks in School” guidelines.
Healthier snack options could not come at a better time to schools like Central High. According to the Center for Disease Control 31.5 percent of 10 to 17-year-olds are overweight or obese in the Omaha, Nebraska area.
Healthy drinks and nutritious snack options have proven to help alleviate the obesity epidemic. Especially at a time when schools are offering less physical activity programs, nutrition is key in the prevention of childhood obesity.
